Melanin MeetUps’ The Better Together Project, in partnership with The Stone Flip Foundation was launched in 2020 due to a change.org/plantations petition which declared that the glamorization of plantations must end that encourage activities such as weddings on sacred burial grounds, corporate events, etc. to occur. The petition garnered +2.7K signatures and validated a theory that in order for the country to heal, we must begin to honor and heal the Black American community. The initiative aims to memorialize the African-American experience. Find out more and donate here.
